Michael Harris Will Serve as Interim Principal of Hilsman Middle School

Michael Harris, currently Executive Director of Talent Management for the Clarke County School District, will serve as interim principal for Hilsman Middle School.    

Mr. Harris has been an educator for nearly twenty-five years, serving both as a teacher and assistant principal at Milwaukee Public Schools' Lincoln Center of the Arts for nine years.   He then moved to the School District of Menomonee Falls where he worked as associate principal at North Middle School and Menomonee Falls High School. Mr. Harris has seven years of experience as a building leader, most recently as principal of Riverside University High School in Milwaukee Public Schools.  He began his career in the Clarke County School District as Executive Director of Secondary Education. Mr. Harris has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakeland College and a Masters Degree in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University.

"He is an exceptional leader with many years of experience as an educator. I have no doubt that Mr. Harris will lead Hilsman confidently forward while we search for the best candidate to fill the position permanently."

There are three additional principal vacancies to be filled at Alps Road Elementary, Chase Street Elementary, and Fowler Drive Elementary School.  The positions are being filled through a collaboration between district staff and school hiring committees comprised of the LSGT, community members, and school staff.
