Staff Report From Athens CEO

Monday, June 24th, 2019

On June 15th, several a2b Fulfillment employees were on hand to assist with The Second Harvest Food Distribution in Greensboro, Ga. The June event distributed over 15,000 pounds of food – including 8,000 pounds of fresh produce and over 300 pounds of frozen pork chops – to 160 families in the local community.

“We want to give a big ‘thank you’ to a2b Fulfillment,” says Reid Conklin of Second Harvest, Inc. “a2b has been a long-time sponsor of the month and we greatly appreciate their financial support in making this month’s food distribution happen. We always love seeing the smiling faces from ‘Team a2b’ as they help volunteer with us.”

The Second Harvest food distribution is a signature project of the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties with a mission to eliminate hunger. Food for the program is obtained through leveraging cash donations, rescuing excess food from The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee and Publix Super Market, and through an accredited partnership with Golden Harvest, a food distribution agency of the Feeding America program. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, July 20th at Greensboro Elementary School.

“It really takes a coordinated effort to organize and move the amount of food these guys donate each month,” says a2b Fulfillment President, Ayal Latz. “These volunteers do such a stellar job putting this together each month and we love having our a2b’ers come out and be a part of it.”
