United Way Celebrates Success at Annual Banquet

The United Way of Northeast Georgia held their annual meeting and awards banquet on March 26. The program highlighted successes from 2018, which included raising over $2 million from the community in their annual campaign.

Influential donors and volunteers recognized this year included:

Lifetime Achievement Award: Ralph Johnson

Live United Small Business Award: Oconee Well Drillers/North Georgia Water Systems

Live United Mid-Size Business Award: 1st Franklin Financial

Live United Large Business Award: Oconee County School System

Region Impact Award: Beth Patrick, UWNEGA Board Member, 2-1-1 Representative

Volunteer of the Year: Nelda Van Schoik, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library volunteer

The organization introduced Kay Keller as the new President/CEO, new Board Chair Todd Henry (Caterpillar), and upcoming Campaign Chair Montez Carter (St. Mary’s Hospital).
