Two schools from the Clarke County School District have been recognized among the top 5% for their single 2017 CCRPI scores –  Barrow Elementary School and Chase Street School.  This designation allows them to apply for the NAESPA Distinguished School Award.  A project of the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators each year is to publicly recognize two schools from each state receiving federal funding for their outstanding achievements in education.  These schools will be designated as FY19 National ESEA Distinguished Schools by NAESPA.  

Because only two schools per state are selected as a National NSEA Distinguished School, this award is an especially prestigious honor.   The two schools to represent Georgia will be selected from the top 5% schools based on the single 2017 CCRPI score by GaDOE.  They must also fulfill the following criteria: exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years; closing the achievement gap between student groups; and excellence in serving special populations of students (e.g. homeless, Migrant, English Learners, etc.).
