OCS #2 in State for SAT Achievement

Oconee County Schools has earned a mean SAT composite score of 1163 for the 2018 testing period, well above state and national mean scores. OCS is ranked #2 in the state, and is just one of two systems ranked in the top 10 in Northeast Georgia.

“I continue to be amazed by our students and their tremendous levels of academic achievement. We are proud of their efforts, and the guidance and support provided by our world-class teachers as well,” said Superintendent Jason Branch. “Celebrating the accomplishments of our entire school community is exciting, and watching the impact these young people will have in the future is even better.”

College Board redesigned the SAT for 2017 on two sections: 1) evidence-based reading and writing and 2) mathematics. This set a new baseline for future years’ comparisons, with last year’s and this year’s mean scores below:

In addition, the number of participants in OCS increased from 411 in 2017 to 441 in 2018.
