Oconee County Schools has formally announced Jennifer Whitaker as principal of Oconee County Primary School, effective July 1, 2018. At last night’s Board of Education meeting, Ms. Whitaker was unanimously approved to serve as principal of the school where she was the assistant principal from 2010-17.

“I am very pleased to announce Jennifer Whitaker as the next principal of Oconee County Primary School,” said Superintendent Jason Branch. “Jennifer has a long track record in Oconee County of building community, fostering challenging and nurturing learning environments, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellence. I look forward to her leading at OCPS with that same passion and purpose.”

Whitaker is the current assistant principal of Rocky Branch Elementary School. Prior to her assistant principal positions at RBES and Oconee County Primary School, she was a teacher in Oconee County Schools from 2003-2010, and has taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade during her career.

She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and educational specialist degrees from the University of Georgia. All three degrees are in the area of early childhood education. Her bachelor’s degree emphasis is in Pre-K through 2ndgrade education.
