Future Land Use Plan on Agenda for Adoption by Mayor & Commission

The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission has recommended the adoption of a new Future Land Use Plan by the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission in accordance with the procedures of Section 9-4-3 of the Athens-Clarke County Code of Ordinances, available online at www.accgov.com/code

The current Official Future Development Map is being renamed the Official Future Land Use Map and updated in regards to approved zoning designations from February 4, 2014 to June 5, 2018; the new Future Development designations in the recently adopted 2018 Comprehensive Plan; and updated Geographical Information Services parcel layer data. The Mayor and Commission will also consider text amendments related to the new map title and Future Land Use designations.

The Mayor and Commission will consider the adoption of the Official Future Land Use Map at a public hearing on July 3, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chamber, City Hall, 301 College Avenue. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The item is also on the agenda for discussion at the non-voting Agenda Setting Session on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., also in the Commission Chamber of City Hall.
